These beautiful piece’s conveys a strong sense of movement, both in the sweep of it’s asymmetrical shape and in its enamel design.

Making the piece’s tested Sheila’s technical expertise. The main body of the vase was etched, before a recess was carved into the silver which was then enamelled. To capture the atmosphere of the subject, Sheila used a palette of grey, black and transparent enamels, building them up in layers and adding area’s of 24ct gold and fine silver foil with each firing.

Mastering this complex process encouraged Sheila to embark on the creation of eight incredibly intricate and sensitive enamelled silver beakers.

Also Balindore has hand crafted a carry tray made in figured walnut with inlayed crocodile skin and leather to capture these beautiful piece’s.
